Inspiration

When I was in college I enjoyed reading Toni Morrison’s Sula and Alice Walker’s The Color Purple. I also devoured a lot of H.P. Lovecraft. The idea of family legacy haunting us is a theme that I’m drawn to and something that dovetails nicely with the stigma of racism our country suffers from. I think our collective conversation on prejudice is a lot more nuanced than the talking heads in the media make it and when it comes down to it, hate looks ugly no matter what color your skin is.
